Completed counted cross stitch stocking

Done, done, done and I liked the way it turned out!

All my stitching and embellishing(french knots, edging/highlighting and “snow” sequins) is complete.  I marked the cut out line per instructions and ready to cut……yikes….that’s the scary part, after so many hours of stitching, to mess it up with a pair of nasty scissors!

Okay, sailed through that part fine and here it is:

I used the stocking as a pattern to cut out the felt back and a lining piece. The instructions do not say to put in a lining, but I highly recommend it:

Here, I basted the lining to the stocking piece for stability when sewing to the felt backing:

Next, I pin all three pieces together and head to the sewing machine:

And here it is….my Grandson’s very first Christmas present:

That means I am heading back to start working on THIS again!

Happy stitching!
